Beatrice Chepkoech bags silver medal in women’s 1,500m

Beatrice Chepkoech has bagged a silver medal in the women’s 1,500m at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia to take Kenya’s medal tally to four.
Chepkoech clocked 4:03.09 to finish second behind South African Caster Semenya who timed a games record 4:00.71.
Another Kenyan Mary Kuria finished ninth in 4:05.88.
Meanwhile, Maxmilla Imali sailed to the 400m finals of the ongoing Commonwealth Games after winning her semifinal on 51.52.
Imali who holds the national record crossed the finish line head of Nigerian Yinka Ajayi who clocked 51.81 to represent Kenya in the finals.
However, the rest of the Kenyan representatives, Gladys Musyoki and Veronica Mutua fell short.
Musyoki finished a disappointing seventh in semi 2 in 54.40 while Mutua was last in the third semi in 54.65.
